JOB Description
Turn Biotechnologies is currently seeking a qualified, highly motivated individual for the position of Senior Application Development Scientist.
The employee will be a highly motivated and innovative individual responsible for the scientific/technical aspects of developing new indications through novel ex vivo and in vivo studies. This position is critical to establishing new pipelines and broadening the utility of the core technologies of the company.

Based in Mountain View, California, Turn Biotechnologies, Inc. is a development-stage company focused on restoring cells’ youthful vigor to repair damage caused by the aging process. Using a proprietary ERA™ Platform, we develop mRNA medicines that are specially formulated to instruct specific cells in the body to fight disease or repair damaged tissue. We do this by reprogramming the epigenome to restore cell function that people often lose as they age. This approach can be used to revitalize different cells throughout the body. We are researching its applicability across multiple therapeutic areas, including dermatology, osteocartilage, ophthalmology and muscular indications.
Responsibilities:
Essential duties of the position include:
Cell culture model system establishment
Performance of cell-based assays and techniques including qPCR, ELISA, Western Blotting, imaging, immunocytochemistry, etc.
Animal, primarily murine, model system handling and development
Analyze and process animal tissue including qPCR, histology, immunostaining, etc.
Organize data, maintain detailed records and communicate results
Develop, validate and write technical reports
Additional duties may include:
Specialized functional cell assays specific to listed indication areas
In vivo injections of cells or solutions into local tissues - intradermal, intramuscular etc.
Live animal imaging and simple biodistribution and safety measurements
Specialized tissue functional assays specific to listed indication areas
Qualifications
Main
Background, 7-10 years, in cell culture work and in vitro assays
Background, 5-7 years, in animal (preferably murine) handling and tissue evaluation
Problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities
Autonomous execution capacity with collaboration with other team members
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Track record of safe and meticulous implementation
Auxiliary
Experience in one or more of the focal application areas: Dermatology, Osteocartilage, Ophthalmology or Muscular
Background in gene therapeutics testing
History with new model system exploration and adaptation
Education/Experience
PhD in molecular and cellular biology or related discipline preferred
Alternatively, BS/MS in the same disciplines with 7-to-10 years of relevant research experience in industry
Google Suite and/or MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
